Superintendent Update
May 08, 2011Happy Mother’s Day! Glad to see the weather has improved just in time for everyone to enjoy this Mother’s Day weekend at the course. The course is still very wet so please use caution while driving the carts around the course. We have put out black and white stakes to help everyone navigate around the wet areas. With the above average rain fall over the past month, the grass is really starting to take off. The frustrating part for the grounds staff is that we have a hard time keeping everything cut while trying not to cause damage to the course with the equipment in the process. Luckily, the 7 day forecast looks very promising to aid in drying the course out some.
My goal this week is get caught up on the rough and trim work around the course. I also plan on starting the long and tedious task of spraying the broad leaf weeds in the rough and green surrounds. I had to wait for some dry weather to get the spray out effectively.
For those of you who played this weekend you might have noticed that we put out new black tee markers for our first outing of the year. We want the rest of the Waubeeka patrons that aren’t playing in the outing to be able to play there normal markers instead of having to play the white markers on the front of every tee.
Also, please note we have a Ladies clinic every Tuesday night at 5:30 for the next few weeks. Check the main home page for all upcoming events. Hope everyone is enjoying the course. If anyone has any questions or concerns on course conditions please don’t hesitate to contact me. See you on the course! Greg Tudor, GCS
